Yamaha MT-125 Modifications List

Welcome back to my latest post (find the others here!), we're looking this time at my Yamaha MT-125 Modifications list! I've got a tonne of stuff I want to do to my bike and I'm really focusing on getting all the parts first before doing the conversion, it just stops me stripping the bike several times! Let's get into it and let me talk you through what I plan to do:

Yamaha mt-125 modifications - the plan:

So, I plan to do quite a bit to my MT-125. Visually, they're absolutely cracking looking bikes but there's more to be desired in terms of the ultimate street-fighter look! The mirrors look hideous and quite frankly aren't very good for usability terms (see here for why) - this was my first change I made. I also plan to do all of the below:

  • Shorty levers, in red to compliment the black bike - £60.
  • Red mesh air intake covers, these need to be sprayed as they don't exist on the open market - £25.
  • Reservoir covers in red - £20 set.
  • Footrests and hangers in black with red bolts - £120 roughly.
  • Red engine bolt kit - £60.
  • Red belly pan bolt kit - £30.
  • Red reflective tape on the wheels - £6.
  • New exhaust - not decided on what I want yet as there's so much to choose from - £150-600.
  • Oil filler cap, in red - £20.
  • Brake lines changed to braided red performance lines - £60.
  • Pillion seat cowl in either black or red, I've not planned yet - £110.
  • Remove pillion pegs (pain in the arse as mines is an ABS model) - FREE.
  • Tail tidy and smaller plate - £40 for both.
  • Master clamps in red to replace the massive holes left from taking the mirrors off - £30 set.
  • All badges to red/black - £15 roughly.
  • Master yoke nut in red - £35.
  • Black/red seat cover - £55.

All in all it should come to around £1,300. Bit expensive but it'll make the bike look absolutely cracking, or at least I hope!

yamaha mt-125 modifications - checklist.

This will serve as my constantly updated checklist on where we're at, not very far at the minute as I've only bought a few parts! As mentioned I'll be doing this in large lumps so it avoids me taking the bike to bits weekly as more parts come!
